Mustang U is currently looking at two different facilities for our future Wild Horse Education Center. We will begin a capitol funds campaign soon. In the meantime, please consider if you are able to make a contribution to Mustang U.
Think about this; if you gave just $1.25 per week, along with 499 other mustang lovers, we could easily be making mortgage payments on a facility to house & gentle several mustangs per year, giving them a good, solid beginning to a new life.
Mustang U is dedicated to educating not only the horse, but the public in terms of how these horses think and respond, giving everyone a better chance of a successful adoption.
Won't you please consider signing up for the $1.25 Campaign?

Squalicum Valley property: This property sits on 10 acres. It has an arena with 8 attached stalls (3 with runs) plus an older barn with 10 additional stalls. There is a home and free standing garage. The property has not been well cared for; weeds run rampant in the pastures and it will need to be closed off to horses for a full year in an effort to get them under control. The arena floods during heavy rains, something we have a lot of in W. Washington. Dry rot in the old barn leaves you debating if repairs or a bon fire are the best option. Quiet, peaceful location means low visibility...and we'd like to be seen. Despite it's short comings, the setting is beautiful and it's only one short mile from my home, meaning easy access to work horses.

The Alpaca Property: If feels like a no brainer when you look at it. Why select the Squalicum Valley property over this? Former owners have abandoned the property. It boasts nearly 20 acres (drains well), an old dairy barn which has been converted into a store, a large indoor arena, farm house, office space, restrooms, 20 box stalls attached to arena, several smaller barns suitable for 2-4 horses each with paddocks. Field fencing is not acceptable for straight from the wild horses, but once gentled could be usable. Former owners left mountains of trash, including stoves, refrigerators, desks, file cabinets, etc. Arena has been misused in recent years; footing is down to packed rock and needs a great deal of sand hauled in. Enough space to host horse shows, adoption events, and clinics. The facility sits right alongside Interstate 5 in northwest WA with extremely high visibility and easy access. Clients, horse trailers and even BLM trucks would have easy access in and out. This property goes up for auction July 17.

I like the Alpaca facility - it gives you double the space for turnouts or horses that will be there for awhile. How is fund raising coming along for this? The auction isn't too far off now.

Not good, Judy. We've not gotten much interest at all in fund raising.
I agree that the alpaca location is the best for our goals.
Glad you made it here!
